AS Foundation Portfolio

My name is Annas Riaz, and I am currently pursuing my A Levels at The City School, Shalimar campus. Photography has become my unique language—my way of expressing emotions and perspectives that words often fail to capture. Growing up, I rarely found an outlet for my feelings through traditional means, but through the lens of my camera, I discovered a powerful alternative. This passion led me to become a well-known photographer and videographer within my college, where I capture moments exactly as I see and feel them.

Alongside my artistic journey, I also embraced the responsibilities of living away from home with my siblings, learning to cook and manage daily challenges. Despite the pressure to conform to a rigid and often discouraging academic system, I managed to balance my studies with my creative passions and extracurricular activities, including sports. Cricket has been a part of my life since childhood, teaching me discipline and the importance of teamwork. 

With 4 to 5 years of experience in photography, I have honed my skills and developed a deep love for storytelling through images. Photography is not just a hobby for me—it’s a form of self-expression that breaks free from the confines of conventional expectations. Though this educational "rat race" sometimes feels stifling, my lens remains a window to my soul, capturing raw and honest moments of life as I see them.

I aspire to continue growing both academically and creatively, proving that with passion and perseverance, it’s possible to carve your own path even when the system insists on fitting you into a mold. Photography and cricket are more than interests—they are lifelines that fuel my spirit and drive for success.
